Information, Resources, Motivation and Support for Plant-Based Eating
Sharing a meal with other vegans and vegetarians is not as hard as it used to be. There are so many more of us, and more and more restaurants offer meals that are perfect for the discriminating, vegan palate.. Still, it is nice to gather with others to enjoy homemade food and company. From time to time Marin VEG has a shared dinner party (formerly known as a pot luck dinner). When we do, it will be listed in that month's newsletter. We would love for you to join us!
Here are the guidelines for the dish you bring:
- Please bring a vegan dish large enough for eight others to share. Vegan means the dish should not include any animal products (no eggs, no dairy, and nothing made with them, such as mayonnaise or cheese).
- Please write down the ingredients of your dish so that people with allergies can avoid what they should. While we always have paper plates and plastic forks for those who forget, we encourage you to bring your own plate, utensils and a serving utensil for the dish you are sharing. Filtered water is often provided, so bring your own drinking cup as well.
- If you don't know how to cook, or don't know what to bring, we always appreciate a simple green salad or a simple fruit salad. Lemon or lime slices can serve as dressing. Keep it simple!
- Attending a vegan dinner party with us is the best way to see the variety of beautiful, delicious, creative dishes that vegans like to eat. We're a friendly group of compassionate, healthy people, and we hope to see you at a dinner party in the future.
