I wanted to send out a few reminders of important events coming up in Marin:

Conscious Eating Conference
This Saturday, March 11, from 9 to 6 (registration from 8:30) is the Conscious Eating Conference in Berkeley at the David Brower Center (2150 Allston Way).

The scheduled speakers this year are terrific.  Learn more at  http://www.upc-online.org/pp/winter2016/6th_conscious_eating_conference.shtml

Come by the Dharma Voices for Animals table and say hello.  I look forward to seeing you there!

Slaughterhouse Update
Abundant thanks to everyone who came to the community forum on March 1 and to those who helped create the professional, persuasive presentations.  Next up:
Tuesday, March 14 at 9AM
Board of Supervisors Meeting at Civic Center, Room 330
Whether you want to speak or show support by listening to others speak, please try to be at this pivotal meeting of our county Supervisors.  The Supervisors are scheduled to hear from the public at this meeting, and possibly vote on the zoning change that would allow slaughterhouses in Marin.

Whether or not you can come, please call your supervisor. The correct phone number is 415-473-7331.  You can send a fax to 415-473-3645. (Apologies for printing the wrong phone number in the last newsletter.)  You can send a single email to these two addresses:  bos@co.marin.ca.us and to jtejirian@marincounty.org.  Let your supervisor know what you think about this zoning change. Tell them you don't want slaughterhouses in Marin. Find out which supervisor represents your town here: https://www.marincounty.org/depts/bs

And you can learn more at www.facebook.com/CitizensAgainstMarinSlaughter/
