Marin Vegetarian Education Group
January 2
This week, the Community Media Center of Marin (CMCM) has two
"events" of interest to vegans, vegetarians, and the veg-curious:
Tuesday, January 3
Vegan Cooking on TV
Tuesday (tomorrow) at 6:30PM and on all Tuesdays at the same
time through March 5, the CMCM is scheduled to air a television show
called Patti's Vegan Kitchen that was recorded in my home. If you
know how to cook, if you like to cook, or if you already know how to
prepare simple, delicious vegan snacks and meals, then this show is
NOT for you! Instead, the half hour show will help novices -
people who are afraid to go vegan because they don't know what to
eat, and those who hate to cook - become more comfortable in the
kitchen. Truly for amateurs, Patti's Vegan Kitchen is a basic intro
to vegan food. I had a blast taping it, and I hope you will have fun
watching it and sharing it with your vegan-phobic friends! You can
watch on Comcast's channel 26 or on the computer at CMCM.tv
(click on community channel live). Eventually, these will also be
on YouTube. Thanks to Marin Artists International for producing the
show and to CMCM for airing it. You can thank them in person on
Wednesday. See below.
Wednesday, January 4
Mixer to Plan for Earthday
The Marin Earth Day and Green Fair celebrations will be held in
San Rafael at the Elk's Club facility on April 22 and 23. The first
planning meeting for this event will be held as a mixer at CMCM (819
A Street) this Wednesday, January 4 from 7 PM to 8:45.
Vegan refreshment will be served. (Optional: bring more to share.)
If you have an interest in this vegan Earthday event, please try to
come on Wednesday evening. We need ideas for speakers, panels,
entertainment, videos/films, and we need many (really many)
volunteers. If you can help in any capacity, please come to share
your thoughts, connections, and energy. We need you in order to
make this Earthday weekend an informative, entertaining, vegan
celebration for the entire community. I hope to see you there this
Wednesday!
